Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Assorted vegetables (carrots, celery, cucumbers, bell peppers) for serving
  • Pita bread or crackers for serving

Instructions

  1. Soften the Cream Cheese: Ensure cream cheese is softened. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes prior, or microwave for 15-20 seconds, watching carefully.
  2. Combine the Cheeses: In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese and crumbled feta. Blend with a fork or hand mixer until well combined.
  3. Add the Wet Ingredients: Add mayonnaise, sour cream, and olive oil to the cheese mixture. Stir until well incorporated.
  4. Incorporate the Aromatics: Add minced garlic, chopped fresh dill, and chopped fresh parsley. Stir well to combine.
  5. Add the Lemon Juice and Zest: Add lemon juice and lemon zest. Stir until evenly distributed.
  6. Spice it Up (Optional): If desired, add red pepper flakes. Start with 1/4 teaspoon and adjust to taste. Stir well.
  7. Season to Taste: Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Be cautious with salt, as feta is salty.
  8. Mix Thoroughly: Give the dip one final stir to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  9. Chill the Dip: Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours) to allow flavors to meld.
  10. Prepare the Vegetables and Bread: While chilling, prepare vegetables and pita bread/crackers. Wash and chop vegetables. Toast or cut pita bread into wedges.
  11. Serve and Enjoy: Remove dip from refrigerator, stir, and transfer to a serving bowl. Arrange vegetables and pita bread/crackers around it. Serve immediately.
