Enjoy these deliciously rich and chewy blondies, loaded with chocolate chips and optional nuts. They’re simple to make and perfect for satisfying your sweet cravings at any gathering!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate, your choice)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, walnuts or pecans work well)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Whisk until smooth and well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
  7. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but slightly soft. A toothpick inserted should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes.
  11. Lift the blondies out using the parchment overhang and cut into squares or rectangles. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, consider browning the butter before mixing it with the sugars.
  • Feel free to experiment with different types of chocolate chips or add-ins like white chocolate chips or butterscotch chips.
