Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of fresh watermelon, cubed and seeds removed
  • 1 ripe banana, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup of Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
  • 1/2 cup of coconut milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup of ice cubes (optional, for a chilled smoothie)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Choose a ripe watermelon that feels heavy for its size and has a smooth skin. Cut it in half, scoop out the flesh, remove seeds, and cut into cubes (about 2 cups).
  2. Peel and slice the ripe banana into smaller pieces for easier blending.
  3. Measure out the Greek yogurt, coconut milk, honey (if using), and vanilla extract.
  4. In a blender, add the watermelon cubes, sliced banana, Greek yogurt, coconut milk, honey (if using), and vanilla extract. Add ice cubes if you prefer a chilled smoothie.
  5. Secure the lid and blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high speed for about 30-60 seconds until smooth. Stop to scrape down the sides if necessary.
  6. If the smoothie is too thick, add more coconut milk or water to thin it out and blend again.
  7. Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness with more honey or maple syrup if desired. Blend again briefly.
  8. For added flavor, consider a squeeze of fresh lime juice or a pinch of salt. Blend again to mix.
  9. Prepare serving glasses, optionally rimmed with honey and dipped in shredded coconut or crushed nuts.
  10. Pour the smoothie into the prepared glasses.
  11. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a slice of watermelon or banana on the rim.
  12. Enjoy the smoothie fresh while cold. Use a straw or spoon as preferred.
  13. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Shake or stir before drinking.
  14. Feel free to add other fruits like strawberries or mango, or substitute Greek yogurt with a dairy-free alternative.
  15. For extra nutrition, consider adding a tablespoon of chia seeds or flaxseeds.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness according to your preference.
