Ingredients
Scale
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together on medium speed until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
Mix in the vanilla extract and milk until just combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture in three parts, mixing on low speed until just combined.
Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon.
Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes (optional but recommended).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Scoop portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
Notes
For added texture, consider mixing in chopped nuts or dried fruit along with the chocolate chips.
Experiment with different types of chocolate chips for unique flavors.
Adjust the sweetness by reducing the amount of sugar if desired.
