Deliciously crispy hot honey chicken wings coated in a sweet and spicy sauce, perfect for game day or any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot or your favorite brand)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Celery sticks and blue cheese dressing (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Ensure every wing is well-coated.
  3. Spread the wings in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
  5. For extra crispiness, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes at the end.
  6. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, and butter. Stir well.
  7. Bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat and let simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  8. Remove wings from the oven and place in a large mixing bowl.
  9. Pour the hot honey sauce over the wings and toss gently to coat.
  10. Transfer wings to a serving platter and garnish with chopped parsley.
  11. Serve with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, make sure they are completely dry before seasoning. Pat them down with paper towels if needed.
  • Feel free to adjust the level of heat in the sauce by adding more or less cayenne pepper or hot sauce according to your taste.
  • If you prefer a different flavor profile, try adding some lime juice or zest to the hot honey sauce for a citrusy twist.
  • These wings can also be grilled instead of baked for a smoky flavor. Just make sure to keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
