Enjoy a refreshing Iced Matcha Coconut Drink that blends the earthy taste of matcha green tea with creamy coconut milk. Perfect for hot days, this invigorating beverage is sweetened to your liking and served over ice for a satisfying treat.

  • 2 teaspoons matcha green tea powder
  • 1 cup coconut milk (canned or carton)
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: shredded coconut for garnish
  • Optional: a pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Sift the matcha green tea powder into a small bowl using a fine mesh sieve to break up clumps.
  2. Pour in about 2 tablespoons of cold water into the bowl with the sifted matcha to create a paste.
  3. Using a bamboo whisk (chasen) or a small whisk, whisk the matcha and water together in a zig-zag motion until smooth and frothy.
  4. Add an additional 1/2 cup of cold water to the matcha paste and whisk until well combined.
  5. In a separate bowl or pitcher, mix the coconut milk, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract until fully combined. Adjust sweetness to taste.
  6. Slowly pour the matcha mixture into the coconut milk mixture and stir gently to combine.
  7. Optionally, add a pinch of sea salt to enhance the flavors.
  8. Fill your favorite glasses halfway with ice cubes.
  9. Carefully pour the matcha coconut mixture over the ice in each glass.
  10. Sprinkle shredded coconut on top for added texture and a tropical flair (optional).
