Raspberry Matcha Mocktail: A Refreshing & Healthy Recipe

A refreshing Raspberry Matcha Mocktail with sweet raspberry syrup, earthy matcha, and sparkling water. A delightful and healthy beverage.

  • 1 cup fresh raspberries, plus extra for garnish
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder (ceremonial grade recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons hot water (for dissolving matcha)
  • 1 cup chilled sparkling water or club soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: Mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine raspberries, sugar, and water in a small saucepan.
  2. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar dissolves.
  3. Mash the raspberries with the back of a spoon.
  4. Continue simmering for 5-7 minutes, until the syrup slightly thickens.
  5. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a heatproof bowl, pressing on the solids to extract juice. Discard seeds and pulp.
  6. Cool the syrup completely.
  7. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  8. (Optional) Sift matcha powder into a small bowl to remove clumps.
  9. Add hot water to the matcha powder.
  10. Whisk with a matcha whisk or small whisk until smooth and frothy.
  11. Ensure no clumps remain.
  12. Fill a glass with ice cubes.
  13. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of raspberry syrup over the ice (adjust to taste).
  14. Gently pour the prepared matcha mixture over the raspberry syrup.
  15. Top with chilled sparkling water or club soda.
  16. Stir gently to combine.
  17. Garnish with fresh raspberries and a mint sprig (optional).
  18. Serve immediately.
