Indulge in tender bone-in pork chops smothered in a rich and creamy onion sauce. Perfectly seasoned and simmered, this dish is a delightful addition to any family dinner or special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Optional: 1 cup sliced mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Let them rest for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork chops for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add sliced onions (and mushrooms if using) and sauté for 5-7 minutes until soft and translucent.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Pour in chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze. Stir in heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and paprika. Simmer and adjust seasoning.
  6. Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning sauce over them. Cover and reduce heat to low, simmering for 20-25 minutes until cooked through (145°F/63°C).
  7. Flip the pork chops halfway through cooking for even flavor absorption.
  8. Let the pork chops rest in the sauce for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Serve with creamy sauce over the pork chops, garnished with parsley. Enjoy with your favorite sides!

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with cold water and stir into the sauce during the last few minutes of cooking.
  • Marinating the pork chops in the seasonings can enhance flavor.
  • Customize the sauce with your favorite herbs or spices.
