Total Time:6 minutes
Yield:1 serving 1x
Ingredients
Scale
1 ripe banana, peeled and frozen
1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries, hulled
1/2 orange, peeled and segmented (remove seeds!)
1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy, I prefer almond milk)
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (optional, for extra creaminess and protein)
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for extra sweetness)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, enhances the flavor)
A few ice cubes (optional, if using fresh fruit and want a colder smoothie)
Instructions
Gather Your Ingredients: Before you start, make sure you have all your ingredients ready.
Prepare the Fruit: Peel the banana and make sure it’s frozen. Hull the strawberries. Peel the orange and carefully segment it, removing any seeds.
Combine Ingredients in the Blender: Add the milk to the blender first. Then add the frozen banana, strawberries, and orange segments. If using, add Greek yogurt, honey/maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Add ice cubes if using fresh fruit.
Blend Until Smooth: Secure the lid and blend on low, gradually increasing to high speed. Blend until completely smooth and creamy (30-60 seconds). Add more milk if too thick, or more frozen strawberries/ice if too thin.
Taste and Adjust: Taste and adjust flavors to your liking. Add more sweetener if needed, lemon juice/yogurt if too sweet, or more orange segments for tanginess.
Pour and Serve: Pour into a glass or travel mug. Garnish with fresh fruit, chia seeds, or Greek yogurt if desired.
Notes
For a thicker smoothie, use more frozen fruit.
Adjust sweetness and tanginess to your preference.
Add a handful of spinach or kale for extra nutrients.
Boost protein with protein powder or nut butter.
Experiment with other fruits and liquid bases.
Smoothie packs can be prepared ahead of time and frozen.
