Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of wonton wrappers (about 1214 wrappers)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and diced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Cooking oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and granulated sugar. Add vanilla extract and beat until creamy and smooth (2-3 minutes).
  2. In a separate bowl, mix diced strawberries with lemon juice, then gently fold into the cream cheese mixture.
  3. Lay out wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Place about a tablespoon of cheesecake filling in the center of each wrapper.
  4. Wet the edges with water, fold diagonally to form a triangle, and press to seal. Crimp edges with a fork for decoration. Repeat until all wrappers are filled.
  5. Heat cooking oil in a deep skillet over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry wonton bites in batches for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  8. Dust fried wonton bites with powdered sugar using a fine mesh sieve.
  9. Serve with fresh strawberries or a drizzle of chocolate sauce for an extra touch. Enjoy warm for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • Do not overcrowd the frying pan to maintain oil temperature.
  • For a fun twist, try adding other fruits like blueberries or raspberries to the filling.
