Yield:1 serving 1x
Ingredients
Scale
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup fresh papaya, cubed
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1/4 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed recommended)
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
Gather Ingredients: Measure out all ingredients and have them ready.
Combine in Blender: Add frozen strawberries, papaya, Greek yogurt, milk, orange juice, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract (if using) to your blender. Add liquids first, then softer ingredients, then frozen fruit.
Blend Until Smooth: Blend on low speed to start, then gradually increase to high. Blend until completely smooth and creamy, about 1-2 minutes. If too thick, add more milk or orange juice (1 tbsp at a time). If too thin, add more frozen strawberries or ice cubes.
Adjust Sweetness: Taste and add more honey or maple syrup (1 tsp at a time) if needed.
Add Ice (Optional): Add ice cubes for a colder smoothie and blend until smooth.
Pour and Enjoy: Pour into a glass or travel mug. Garnish with desired toppings.
Notes
Thicker Smoothie: Use more frozen strawberries or ice. Add 1 tbsp chia or flax seeds.
Thinner Smoothie: Add more milk or orange juice.
Add Greens: Sneak in spinach or kale.
Protein Boost: Add a scoop of protein powder.
Vegan: Use non-dairy milk, maple syrup/agave, and plant-based yogurt.
Tropical Twist: Add pineapple or mango.
Spice it Up: Add a pinch of ginger or turmeric.
Frozen Papaya: Use frozen papaya chunks (thaw slightly).
Make Ahead: Store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours; stir before drinking.
Smoothie Bowls: Pour into a bowl and top with granola, fruit, nuts, and seeds.
Choosing Papaya: Look for mostly yellow/orange skin, slight give when squeezed, sweet aroma near the stem, and a heavy weight for its size. Ripen at room temperature in a paper bag.
