Yield:1 cocktail 1x
Ingredients
Scale
2 oz yuzu juice (freshly squeezed if possible)
1.5 oz tequila (preferably silver or blanco)
1 oz orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
0.5 oz agave syrup (adjust to taste)
Salt (for rimming the glass)
Ice cubes
Yuzu slices or lime wedges (for garnish)
Instructions
Start by taking a lime wedge and running it around the rim of your glass to help the salt stick.
On a small plate, pour a thin layer of salt (regular table salt or coarse sea salt).
Gently dip the rim of the glass into the salt, twisting it slightly for an even coating. Set aside to let the salt adhere.
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz of freshly squeezed yuzu juice (or bottled if fresh is unavailable).
Pour in 1.5 oz of tequila.
Add 1 oz of orange liqueur for sweetness and depth.
Sweeten with 0.5 oz of agave syrup, adjusting to taste.
Fill the shaker with ice cubes, covering the liquid completely.
Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until well combined and chilled.
Fill your prepared glass with fresh ice cubes.
Using a fine mesh strainer or the built-in strainer of your shaker, pour the cocktail mixture into the glass over the ice.
Garnish with a slice of yuzu or a lime wedge on the rim of the glass.
Notes
Experiment with Flavors: Infuse tequila with herbs like basil or mint for a unique twist.
Chill Your Glass: For an extra refreshing experience, chill your glass in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before serving.
Adjust Sweetness: Modify the amount of agave syrup to suit your taste, or try honey or simple syrup as alternatives.
Make It a Pitcher: Scale up the recipe for gatherings by mixing a larger batch.
